Chief Operating Officer

Austin L. Gilbert is the Chief Operating Officer and Institutional Division Lead at Acorn Management Partners, based in the firm’s Atlanta headquarters. In this role, he oversees day-to-day operations across the retail and institutional sides of the business, ensuring teams, processes, and client initiatives run with consistency and precision, so clients receive efficient, high-quality service at every stage. Since joining Acorn in 2012, he has helped build and refine the firm’s operational infrastructure, implementing scalable systems and streamlined workflows that support relationships with companies and funds on the NASDAQ, NYSE, and within the ETF marketplace.

A graduate of the University of Kentucky’s Gatton College of Business and Economics with a Bachelor of Science in Business and Economics, Austin brings a grounded, disciplined approach to leadership centered on clarity, accountability, and long-term partnership. He leads a team of Senior and Junior Client Relations Specialists, aligning strategy with execution and turning complexity into structure that supports people, not just processes.

What drives Austin most is building trust among teams, with clients, and within the systems that keep everything moving forward. Shaped by his family, lifelong friends, and his wife, whom he has known since grade school, he believes success is measured in loyalty, character, and how you show up for others over time. Outside of work, he enjoys traveling with family, exploring new cultures through food, getting outdoors to hike and recharge, following Formula 1, and cheering on Kentucky basketball and football ”Go Big Blue” bringing a curious, thoughtful, and down-to-earth personality to his life and his work at Acorn.
